Metal Roofing NJ offers three separate products that if
installed may help your home achieve LEED (Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design) points. We currently
instally metal roofing that incorporates photovoltaic solar
panels, rainwater treatments systems and solal thermal
energy systems.

Photovoltaic Solar Panels
The use of
photovoltaic material meets the requirements of LEED Energy and
Atmosphere Credit 2, (Renewable Energy), which incrementally
awards up to three points for generating 5 percent, 10 percent,
or 20 percent of the building's energy use with renewable power.
This allows a building to earn up to 10 LEED credits in tandem
with an Englert metal roof which has the potential to earn up to
seven LEED points Energy & Atmosphere, material recyclability,
regional manufacture and building reuse.
Rainwater Treatment
Systems
Water Efficiency Credit 1.1:
Water Efficient Landscaping: Reduce by 50% 1 Point
Limit or eliminate the use of potable water, or
other natural surface or subsurface water resources available on or near the
project site, for landscape irrigation. The requirements are to reduce potable water consumption for irrigation by
50% from a calculated mid-summer baseline case. Reductions shall be
attributed to any combination of the following items:
*Plant species factor
*Irrigation efficiency
*Use of captured rainwater
*Use of recycled wastewater
*Use of water treated and conveyed by public agency spec for non-potable uses
Solar
Thermal Energy Systems
LEED points that are
awarded for each individual system created are determined not by
the size of the system but by the percentage of the building's
total energy use produced on-site. For existing buildings,
LEED's Energy and Atmoshpere Credit offers 1 point for each 3%
of the building's total energy produced by renewable energy. |
